Queen Harmony romantically snacking on her King on Valentine’s day @ http://slurl.com/secondlife/Uluru/72/116/23
As part of this blog I hope to not only raise awareness of my kind and my family, but change the perception of SL Vampires and Lycans. Not all of us are so called ‘spampires’, in fact I have an alt and when I first brought it into SL I was spammed with much worse. For example, people trying to get me to wear collars.
A lot of those I have met have either dealt with a ‘bad clan’ or ‘bad vampire’ at some point in their second lives, but this did not discourage them. It is a second life style that can be enjoyed. I personally have never sent a bite (or claw) request to anyone who was not willing to accept it, nor have I sent the request before the other party has consented.
Our family have strict rules on bite requests and recruiting. We do not recruit anyone who does not understand what is being asked, and we make sure they are aware of what they are undertaking.
We enjoy the role play and we enjoy the people. We have fun in similar ways to most people in SL, to the point where our sim has its own club and its own market. A lot of our members breed horses or cats. A lot of our members build. Most of our members enjoy just being at the sim with one and other.
Our King has been absent for some time due to his health. Recently, he sent word to me that he would not be returning and that I was to look after the family indefinitely.
That is why I am no longer Crown Prince, but King Para. I also have my partner as Vamp Queen Harmony. To help me with the running of the land and its people we also now have Our Queen Mother Janice.
Without Janice the entire family would have been doomed before it started, and for that we thank her.
We have a long road ahead of us, but now we are well and truly on our way.

Oh no. Oh no, no, no, no.
Yes, it’s “free” that is unless you don’t want to look like total ass then it’s absolutely not free, oh and don’t forget to join bloodlines and spam everyone with unwanted bite requests to add them to a permanent data base
To the last comment on this, as I have said before to everyone. NO. That is what is done by the idiotic minority who aren’t taught to play the game properly. For people who want to play the game properly it is a very fulfilling experience as long as you are taught to play it properly and respect others in SL. And to those who spam random bite requests, please stop making the rest of us look bad and learn to play the game properly. However I agree that being a vampire, no, being in SL is not free if you wish to get anywhere properly.
This passage is the result of my research into a possible additional faction within the bloodlines. In our family there are four houses; Vampire, Lycan, Vita and Spectos. In bloodlines there are 3; Vampire, Lycan and Human. My research finds an extra faction/house is made possible within the human bloodlines faction. The Revenant.
In bloodlines the Revenant is a state of humanity, where humanity is drained but immortality has not yet been gained. Here is where my research turns this notion on its head.
Revenant Lore:
The general belief of a Revenant in lore is a being stuck between life and death. They are no longer human and are concidered to be undead, having everlasting life in death in the same way a vampire does. However, they do not have the powers of the vampire nor do they submit to the curse. In some cases Revenants have had the ability to transform as a Lycan can, however their transformation does not bring them as much power as if they were a full Lycan. As they are an immortal they do not retain their soul, they cannot create their own immortals either.
For purposes of this last point, it means that in the bloodlines game they can liege and be lieged to, however, they cannot tally their soul count upward to their liege’s total. For this reason Revenants should have the souls of those they are in charge of taken by a full Immortal in their bloodline or take the soul for themselves while never counting towards the bloodline. Any souls their charges bring will also either be given up to the bloodline or kept to themselves, only tallying toward the Revenant
To recap the pro’s and con’s of Revenancy against full immortal status.
Pro’s:
Immortality without curse.
Cannot be attacked by full Immortals in the bloodlines game.
Con’s
Cannot tally souls.
No special abilities other than immortality and transformation.
In conclusion, there are massive advantages to being a Revenant, but these advantages come it a massive cost. Anyone who chooses to take this path will never need to feed but they must choose between sharing they bring in with their bloodline and having charges to mentor and nurture.

There are a lot of people in Second Life who don’t like vampires. Some of them have good reason. 99% don’t.
A lot of the reason for this is a minority of Vampires or Lycans sending out random bite/claw requests. This is not agreeable. Those that do it are giving the entirety of bloodlines a bad name. There are also rogue vampires that like to ‘newbie hunt’, they grab people new to SL who do not understand the concept of SL yet let alone an SL vampire. For those people who join SL to become vampires that is fine but Bloodlines made it so you can’t bite people under a certain SL age for a reason.
There is also the concept behind bloodlines, people see it as a pyramid scheme to earn those at the top money. Yes the more bloodlines grows the more money the creators make, however the more people that join Second Life the more Linden Labs make. The game is an RP tool, used so that families like mine can operate the way they do.
However the biggest reason people don’t like SL Vampires is simple, word of mouth. Those that have come in contact with the minority of bad Vampires or those that don’t like the game itself spread the hatred like racism. I have been turned away from some sims simply because I was wearing my fangs (which I always wear and therefore it does not enter my mind to remove them). The sim boasted everyone was welcome, as long as they don’t vampire RP. Which is understandable. However the sim now said to me everyone is welcome except your kind, if we find out someone is part of a clan/family/horde/pack in the bloodlines game they will be ejected. It’s like virtual apartheid.
My family operate under strict rules. You do NOT random bite request. You do NOT go after newbies unless they come to you. You do NOT RP in sims that request no RPing. You do NOT hassle those who do not wish to be part of the game. All I wish is that we can get on with what we enjoy doing in peace and for people to stop giving the good bloodlines players such a bad reputation.
